Project Monarch: Protecting the Southwest’s Monarch Butterflies

Monarch butterflies are in trouble due to habitat loss, climate change, and pesticides. Project Monarch, by Southwest Monarch Study, is all about understanding and protecting these butterflies in the southwestern U.S. They track migration, study breeding, and find key habitats.

Volunteers and citizen scientists are crucial, tagging butterflies, reporting sightings, and planting native milkweed—their vital host plant. Through research and community support, Project Monarch is working to save these iconic butterflies. Everyone can help, and even small acts, like planting butterfly-friendly gardens, can greatly aid monarch survival. Learn how you can be the change through this link.

Great to see support for Project Monarch! There’s a good chance with enough receivers rf tagged monarchs will float through your region and be picked up! Keep up the great messaging!
