Wings of Change was proud to be honored as one of the 15 recipients in Harrah’s Resort Southern California’s “All-in 4 Change” charitable program. In total $250,000 was awarded, with 3 community partners to receive awards in addition to 15 nonprofits selected in the online competition. The awards were presented at a luncheon held at, Harrah’s So Cal Resort located in Funner, CA. Stephanie Holbrook, the founder accepted an honorable mention award for Wings of Change, the only environmental organization to receive an award this year. According to the general manager Jill Barrett there were over 100 applications this year and over 750 applicants since the program was created in 2015. The top winner was Feeding San Diego, an organization that operates food distribution programs throughout the entire San Diego County including Fallbrook. Wings of Change is humbled, honored, and grateful to be in the presence of so many wonderful nonprofits, including Canine Companions for Independence, Navy-Marine Corps Proud Foundation, and the Armed Services YMCA. To listen to the impact they are making in our community is truly inspiring.
Wings of Change would like to thank the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians. They have been able to help improve thousands of lives in San Diego and Riverside Counties through their many programs designed to give back to their community. “On behalf of the Rincon Tribe, we are honored to partner with Harrah’s Resort Southern California to continue to support those in our community,” stated Bo Mazzetti, Chairman of the Rincon Tribe. “If we can play a small role when it comes to positively impacting someone’s life through the help of our local nonprofits, then we know that we’re doing exactly what we need to do.”
