Instructions:

  • Work individually or in small teams.
  • Find as many of the following items as you can.
  • Take a photo, draw, or collect (if safe and allowed, for example, leaves ‒ but do not damage living plants or disturb wildlife) as proof.
  • Try to notice details: color, shape, smell, sound.
  • There are bonus points if you can explain why something matters (for example, how bees help plants, or why oak trees are important).

Bonus Challenges

  • Find two different types of trees and note how they look different (shape, color).
  • Find three different plants that bees seem to prefer (plants with many bees around them).
  • Sketch a small plant or leaf and label its parts (stem, leaf blade, petiole, veins).
  • Identify one tree species other than oak (for example, something that looks different in leaf shape or bark).
  • Listen and describe a bird sound you hear. Which bird could it be?
