Wings of Change

Wings of Change is spreading the word about the importance of butterflies and pollinators worldwide. We educate the community about how butterflies affect everything, including fire safety, drought tolerance, and our health.

Partnership with Fallbrook Land Conservancy

Wings of Change is excited to announce our official partnership with Fallbrook Land Conservancy.

The Fallbrook Land Conservancy is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1988. With a mission to “… preserve and enhance the rural character and natural beauty of our area through the permanent protection of open space and related activities,” we felt that the partnership was inevitable.

Fallbrook Land Conservancy now controls over 3,000 acres of permanently protected land throughout Fallbrook. These preserves are open to the public and allow our community the chance to visit land that contains native ecosystems where the natural flora and fauna and able to flourish.

Here at Wings of Change we always stress the importance or using plants that are native to the area in your garden or landscaping efforts. Using native plants not only gives plants the best chance of survival, but also provides the natural wildlife, including butterflies, the habitats they are looking for and can thrive within.

Introducing plants that are not native to the area can lead to a whole host of problems. These include, but are not limited to, disease overtaking natural plants, invasive species crowding out the native plants, decreased wildlife activity, and an out of balance ecosystem.

As a community partner with Fallbrook Land Conservancy, Wings of Change will continue to focus on supporting their mission of preserving the local lands. We will work tirelessly to educate the public on what they can do to make their property enhance the local ecosystem. And most importantly, we will work together to provide the resources needed to encourage our community to do its part in encouraging the butterfly migrations to not only continue through our town, but also improve the quality and size of the migrations.

We would like to give a shout out to Fallbrook Land Conservancy, Susan Liebes, and the entire team at Fallbrook Land Conservancy for all the hard work they have put into this project. The results are nothing short of fantastic and we cannot wait to see what we can do to grow together.

You can find us at the events hosted by Fallbrook Land Conservancy including the Adopt A Road events, Avo Open Golf Tournament, and Stagecoach Sunday. We hope to see you out there!
